It was an exciting day at Pressley Ridge last Friday! The Pittsburgh Pirates, in partnership with ARAMARK, came to the Pressley Ridge Day School to help students choose and wrap holiday gifts for their families. This was the third year in a row that the Pirates and ARAMARK staff have helped out with our holiday store!
The Pittsburgh Pirates Charities CARE-a-van tour made their last stop at the Pressley Ridge Day School on Friday, December 13th. Bullpen Coach Euclides Rojas, Players Charlie Morton, Justin Wilson, Jeff Locke, and Gaby Sanchez, Pirates Broadcaster Tim Neverett, the Pirate Parrot, and the Bucco Brigade arrived around 10:00 am. Tables were set up in the Day School gym with gifts donated by school staff, ARAMARK staff and gifts purchased with a generous grant that Pressley Ridge received from ARAMARK as well.
The kids had a great time interacting with the Pirates players and ARAMARK staff shopping for gifts for their parents, siblings and loved ones. Throughout the day the Bucco Brigade and some of the players tweeted about their experience. All of the Pirates thoroughly enjoyed visiting with the kids, signing autographs and posing for pictures.
All in all, it was a fantastic day. Fortunately no one displayed any symptoms of Friggatriskaidekaphobia (fear of Friday the 13th)! Many thanks to the Pittsburgh Pirates and ARAMARK for their caring efforts and most importantly for bringing joy to the Pressley Ridge kids during this holiday season.
Special thank you to Steve Musciano, General Manager for ARAMARK, Sherie Sheran, and ARAMARK volunteers for their third year of support. We also want to thank Dana Wachter and all the terrific Pressley Ridge staff who worked so hard to organize and put this wonderful event together.
