Ribbon - Cutting at Pressley Ridge Day School East

New school for troubled children opens in Westmoreland County

SOUTH GREENSBURGPressley Ridge Day School East is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony at 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 24 at Pressley Ridge Day School East located in St. Bruno Catholic Church Annex, 1729 Poplar Street, South Greensburg, PA.

Pressley Ridge Day School East is a local private academic Special Education school that can accommodate up to 60 children from 6 – 22 years of age. Students will learn social and behavioral skills while improving their academic success. Its goal is to provide the most “troubled and troubling children” with the academic and behavior skills necessary for reintegration into their school district, while saving the citizens thousands in transportation cost.

Many troubled students are educated out-of county, out-of-district, or experiencing inadequate or very limited educational services.  By attending Pressley Ridge Day School East, it will shorten the time a child spends in transit and will help parents become more involved in the educational and behavioral programming because they are closer to home.

“We are thrilled to offer educational services to South Greenburg community and are excited to begin working with and helping area kids,” said Program Director Lynne Boley.

Kim Ward, Westmoreland County Commissioner, and Dr. B. Scott Finnell, Pressley Ridge President and CEO, will offer brief remarks and cut the ribbons.  All guests are invited to tour the school and enjoy refreshments.

The best time for coverage is 2:00 p.m. – 2:20 p.m.  Video of the children and classrooms are permitted.
