WEXFORD MOMS CLUBŪ MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN LIVES OF TROUBLED CHILDREN

WEXFORD, July 13, 2007 — The children and families of Pressley Ridge, a therapeutic children’s organization, were the beneficiaries of a generous contribution from the Wexford MOMS Club®.  The MOMS Club® donated numerous items including personal hygiene products, games, books, movies, gift cards, and arts and craft materials.

In addition, the MOMS provided a financial contribution to Pressley Ridge’s Opportunity Fund. Each year Pressley Ridge provides $1 million in non-reimbursed services so that children and families in crisis get the immediate intervention they need.

The donated items will be shared with more than 800 children and families receiving services in education, treatment foster care, residential treatment and/or community based services in this region.

“We are extremely appreciative of the all practical and useful items donated by the MOMS Club,” stated vice president and chief development officer, Janet Emery.  “When you think about how meaningful a well-stocked backpack is to a child who has never had one, you truly appreciate the difference the Wexford MOMS have made in the lives of Pressley Ridge children.  Their donation has a significant impact, very personal impact on the lives of children we serve.”

The Wexford MOMS Club® is an international non-profit organization for stay-at-home-mothers that provides support and activities for MOMS and their children. In addition to the opportunity to meet other MOMS in the area, its goals are to provide a forum for topics of interest to mothers, help children in the community and perform at least one service project yearly helping needy children.

Mrs. Teri Cholewicki, vice president of the Wexford MOMS Club® and her sons, Bryce, and Joshua made several trips to their overstuffed SUV to retrieve and deliver the goods. “One of the moms suggested Pressley Ridge and once we had the opportunity to learn more about the organization, we knew we made the right choice.  In addition, my husband and I had a foster child for several years, so we understand how developing a trusting relationship between caring adults and children makes a difference.”
