Last week Katia Almeida and Patricia Sarmento had the opportunity to represent Pressley Ridge Portugal at the 6th International Conference of the EFeCT (European Federation of Conflict Management and Treatment and Care in Education) held in Ghent, Belgium.
The theme of the conference was “Who Cares? I’m in trouble! Listen…”. This conference was aimed at all those who are willing to listen to the voices of children and youth in vulnerable situations. 230 participants attended this conference.
Communicators from 10 countries presented their views on the systems of care that work with children and young people, all aligned and focused on the skills and talents of youth. In the end, the parents gave their feedback on the two day conference, stressing the importance of professionals to view them as an interested partner in the work with their children.
Katia Almeida presented the workshop “The power of the team to strengthen and empower kids and families”, with a strong participation and positive assessment of the participants.
After the conference, there was also a meeting between senior European trainers with the objective of its re-accreditation course in Life Space Crisis Intervention (Crisis Intervention in the Context of Life). This year in Portugal this course will take place on the 27th and 28th of June and on the 17th, 18th and 19th July. Learn more about this course here.
