As we enter into the holiday season, many of us are excited about the joy the season brings and look forward to our time celebrating with family and friends. However; for some, joy, doesn’t seem to be part of their reality. Many children and families are faced with challenges during the holiday season and year round. We understand this because Pressley Ridge is there supporting them through the most difficult of times and circumstances. You are receiving this letter because you also understand. You understand even though we may be extremely thrilled for the holidays, we know the reality some of our children and families are facing. Children who aren’t excited at all for the holidays because all they want is a family to share it with, but who don’t know if they will ever have one. Parents who are struggling to cope with being able to provide just the basics of food and shelter during these difficult economic times. Teenagers faced with the pressures of family conflicts and who are tempted to hurt themselves or someone else just to get some relief. Unfortunately, these are just a few of the struggles of our kids and families.

This year, Pressley Ridge was able to help 5,600 children and families who faced challenges of every magnitude and many that seem unimaginable to some of us. The only way for us to continue helping them is with your support. This holiday season, my wish is that everyone who receives this letter will find a way to give a minimum of $25.00 and hopefully more if possible, to help us to continue to meet the needs of those that need us today and in the future.

For me, this is personal. As an adopted child myself, I can only imagine what my life would have been like had I not found parents who loved me unconditionally and helped me understand the important things in life- like helping others and giving back. Each holiday, my family and I take time to remember this season isn’t about how many presents we can purchase. It’s about what we can give. I will personally be making a gift on behalf of my family to Pressley Ridge. I hope you will join me this holiday season by making a gift to Pressley Ridge as well. Our mission is to do “whatever it takes” to create success for those children and families who need us. Your gift can help us accomplish this.
