Pennsylvania

Pressley Ridge has a 175 year history of service in Western Pennsylvania. Our administrative offices, located on the Marshall Avenue Campus on Pittsburgh's North Side, remain on the site that was purchased by Pressley House in the late 1950s.

Currently, Pressley Ridge's Pennsylvania programs serve over 900 children and families each day, providing treatment foster care, Community-based, residential and educational services in Allegheny, Beaver, Fayette, Washington and Greene counties. Whether working with a family at a home visit, picking up a child who missed the school bus, calling a "huddle" at camp, or going to court to advocate for a child, our staff have one goal in mind: to meet the needs of the kids and families we serve.

Program Highlight - Pressley Ridge Autism Services
Pressley Ridge began services for children with Autism in 1995 with intensive one-on-one home and community-based therapies to young children with Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) or autism and related disorders. The program was developed in the spirit of the Re-Educational model, to teach communication and social skills using positive behavioral approaches.

The program's main offices are located at Brightwood Point on Pittsburgh's North Side. The offices are located in a renovated building on a four-acre site close to the main campus. This facility is state of the art, allowing us to provide the best services in the region.

Treatment Services
Our Center provides two types of intensive therapeutic interventions in one-on-one home and Community-based settings:

  • Discrete Trial Therapy - structured, individualized therapy presented in a discrete trial format.
  • Greenspan Play-Based Intervention - play-based intervention presented in a context of floor time.

Population Profile
Clients range in age from eighteen months to fifteen years old. They are served in their homes or in day treatment facilities, and special education classrooms. In total, over 125 children and adolescents are served daily. Children in the program have been diagnosed with Autism, PDD or a related disorder.

Referrals come from parents of children with Autism or from mental health case managers. The case manager or parent may call Pressley Ridge Central Intake at 1-888-777-0820 to make a referral.

The Regional Autism Alliance
