Pressley Ridge has been offering services in Virginia since August, 2002 from our offices located in Tazewell County. We provide Treatment Foster Care services to youths with emotional and/or behavior problems that are in need of intensive treatment services. They are matched with Treatment Foster Parents who are recruited from within the community and who have received training to work with children with troubling behavior.

Program Highlights
Pressley Ridge Virginia works toward providing relatively short term treatment to youths with emotional and behavior issues. The goal of the TFC program is to aide youths in resolving issues that led to their emotional and behavior problems so they can be successfully reunited with biological families, adoptive families or work toward independence. TFC is an alternative to residential placement for youths whose behaviors can be safely maintained and treated in a family and community setting.

Population Profile
Pressley Ridge Virginia provides Treatment Foster Care services to youths typically from the ages of 8-18. Children who are younger may be accepted into the program if they meet entry criteria. Youths are referred by the local Virginia Department of Social Services as an alternative to residential placement or youths in need of a step-down placement. Those referred are in the legal custody of the DSS and may present with a variety of problematic behavior in various settings.
