Supervisor of the Quarter
In the fall of 2010, Pressley Ridge initiated a new awards program to honor our outstanding supervisors. Our supervisors are critical to the success of the organization and our work with children and families. They are the major purveyors of our culture, the torchbearers who advance our mission through their adept leadership of others. They prepare our frontline staff for their work with children and families, and support and guide them as they carry out their vital duties. They are the true unsung heroes at Pressley Ridge.
The Outstanding Supervisor Award, beginning this quarter, will be given quarterly for exceptional leadership to the organization. Award winners will then qualify for the “Agnes Buchanan Excellence in Supervision Award” which will be presented annually beginning in 2011. Mrs. Buchanan, was a long time board member, a former board president, and one of the two people most responsible for the merging of the Protestant Home and Pressley House thus creating what we now know as Pressley Ridge. Though she passed in 2010, Mrs. Buchanan’s dedication to the organization and her inspirational leadership are legendary. It is fitting that her name will be associated with this award for excellence henceforth.
