The “Paprikas Krumpli” cooked by the kids team of Pressley Ridge Hungary’s LIKE project was awarded a special prize by the Restaurant and Traditional Committee of the Hungarian National Association of Gastronomy.
Our team participated in the cooking contest organized at the annual Laska and Tocsni Festival in Kazar in the North of Hungary. In addition to the cooking the kids and staff also offered a life-sized family board game for the public at the festival.
Laska is a special crepe made of boiled potatoes and flour and baked on a hot iron stove, while tocsni is our version of potato pancake. And as for “Paprikas Krumpli”, it is a simple but delicious Hungarian dish. Here are some places to look for a recipe in case you want to try it: (With special recommendation to our good old friend and long time supporter, Jim Natural.) Food.com and Examiner.com.
