Autism

Boy Autism StudentPressley Ridge Autism Services provides individualized educational and therapeutic services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. We teach children the skills they need to be successful in their homes, schools, and communities. Our program is evidenced-based; we utilize best-practice strategies, curriculums, and materials for children with autism spectrum disorders. By utilizing a strengths-based approach, we are able to address challenging behaviors and to teach communication and social skills to children who are not making measurable progress in their current programs.

We provide services in the following:

  • School for Autism

The School for Autism is a Licensed Private Academic School that provides special education to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our goal is to support our youth to learn the skills required to achieve their maximum potential. Learn More

  • Autism Summer Program

The Autism Summer Program helps youth with autism to maintain progress on their IEP goals, as well as to develop new social and communication skills. We work with children from surrounding school districts in Allegheny, Westmoreland, Beaver, Butler, and Armstrong Counties. At our Greensburg site, we offer two services: Extended School Year (ESY) and the Summer Therapeutic Activities Program (STAP). Learn More

  • Specialized Autism Behavioral Health Rehabilitative Services (BHRS)

Pressley Ridge’s Specialized Autism Behavioral Health Rehabilitation Service (BHRS) provides individualized therapy to children in their homes in Westmoreland County. Our services help youth with autism ages 2-18 to develop skills and maintain progress on social, communication, and behavioral goals. Learn More

  • School Based Training and Consultative Autism Services

Students with autism/Asperger’s often experience many challenges in their daily lives. Often, these children possess deficits in cognitive functioning, social skills, communication skills, emotion regulation, to name a few. These deficits range from mild to severe. Some students are easily maintained successfully in inclusive programs. Learn More

  • Therapeutic Social Groups

Therapeutic Social Groups help children with autism practice playing and build successful relationships. Social groups provide intervention to carefully matched groups of children and are facilitated by experienced staff members who have specialized training in autism. Learn More
