What Makes Pressley Ridge Services Unique?
Pressley Ridge is much
more than "schools." This agency, that began as a refuge for orphans, has
developed into an innovative leader in the treatment of troubled children.
The kids who come to Pressley Ridge have serious emotional and behavioral problems. They are the most difficult kids - the kids others label as treatment-resistant, even hopeless.
Not every child is the same, nor are every child's problems. At Pressley Ridge, we draw from four key service areas to create a highly individualized program that best meets each child's needs.
All Pressley Ridge services are guided by a common treatment philosophy called Re-education. Re-ED focuses on the strengths of each child and family with the belief that it is possible to teach competence, that change is possible, and that the most significant factor in turning around the lives of seriously troubled children is the development of trusting relationships with caring, committed adults. Our staff and professional foster parents are well trained, supportively supervised, and challenged daily to do the best they can for troubled children and their families.
Our program objectives are to:
Pressley Ridge hires and provides services without regard to race, color, religious creed, ancestry, sex, handicap, or national origin.
