“I remember the first time I saw him, there was something about him. He won my heart. I knew he was going to be my son. I didn’t know anyone else who wanted him, be we sure did.

Treatment Foster Parent (29 years)
Children in our programs come from very diverse backgrounds and have a variety of reasons for no longer living with their own families. They may have a history of multiple failed foster placements, care in residential treatment programs, or they may be entering out-of-home care for the first time. Some children in our programs exhibit patterns of running away or school truancy; they may have learning or developmental disabilities; they may have significant behavioral or emotional problems or mental health diagnoses. Some of our children have a history of family disruption, neglect, or abuse.
At Pressley Ridge, our children:
- Can range in age from 0 – 21 years, with the majority of our children age 13-15
- May be any race, any religion, any socioeconomic background
- May have siblings that are also in out-of-home care
