Starting as a case aid, I progressed to an advocate role, driven to support families. The key to my longevity has been witnessing families’ successes and hearing their testimonials. Notably, I recall two sisters I assisted early in my tenure, whose parents struggled with addiction. Despite placement, fifteen years later, the eldest recognized me, expressed gratitude, and shared her progress. I inquired about their well-being. She shared her positive outlook, mentioning her sister’s college progress. A touching photo she showed me elicited tears of joy, considering their remarkable journey. These encounters are the fruits of my labor. Having recently lost my daughter on September 24, 2024, and battled illness while caring for her, I’m beginning to recover.
