Office Manager, Home Places

I started out as a secretary at Pressley Ridge in 1992. Since then, I have worked for three different programs, and I am now an Office Manager for Home Places. As Pressley Ridge has grown and developed in the 30 years I have been here, so have I, learning many new things to make my job easier.

The program and staff I work with are very special individuals. Working with our special needs kids is no easy task, and you have to be very caring and empathetic to help our kids. My most memorable moments are coming in to work and seeing a picture or token from one of the kids left on my desk. That would always put a smile on my face.

The Pressley Ridge environment, perks (parking, lunch, medical), and staff is what has kept me here. I have always felt like I mattered to the many bosses I’ve had over the years. My co-workers have always been very welcoming and helped me whenever I needed it. In short, it’s the people in the program I work for who kept me at Pressley Ridge for 30 years.
