When Evan transferred to the Pressley Ridge School for Autism in the fall of 2024, he arrived with many support needs and was hesitant to try new activities or explore unfamiliar spaces within the school. Change felt overwhelming, and even routine transitions were challenging.
Since then, Evan has made meaningful strides. With the support of dedicated staff, he has built positive relationships and is beginning to truly thrive in the school setting. Milestones that once felt out of reach, such as transitioning outdoors during fire drills and eating in the lunchroom, are now part of Evan’s growing list of achievements. Each success represents increased confidence, trust, and independence.
Evan’s progress has been recognized by his family. His mother shares, “Evan has shown so much growth this year thanks to his wonderful teachers and staff. They are teaching him manners, patience, and the ability to tolerate new things—all while showing him kindness and acceptance. He is excelling at Pressley Ridge.”
Evan’s journey is a powerful reminder that progress doesn’t always happen all at once, but with patience, compassion, and the right support, meaningful change is possible, Evan is a welcomed and valued member of the School for Autism, and his growth is felt and celebrated throughout the school community.
