In honor of Mental Health Month at Pressley Ridge, we are proud to celebrate moments of growth, empowerment, and community connection. Yesterday, Ofi achieved an incredible milestone by successfully attending a full group outing to the Cincinnati Museum Center without a family member for the first time in well over a year. Throughout the outing, Ofi demonstrated remarkable self‑advocacy by clearly expressing her needs and requesting breaks when needed. She remained regulated the entire day, experiencing no elopement or meltdowns—an accomplishment that reflects her hard work, resilience, and the supportive environment created by her care team.
Ofi enthusiastically shared her love for both the natural history and children’s museum exhibits, capturing photos to proudly show her family when she returned home. She was excited to tell everyone about her experience, and her joy was contagious. Best of all, her mother was thrilled to hear how much fun Ofi had and how successful the outing was.
This experience beautifully represents what Mental Health Month stands for at Pressley Ridge: building confidence, fostering independence, and supporting individuals as they discover their strengths and thrive within their communities.
