I began my career as an Accounts Payable Clerk working with WV and MD. I transitioned to a Financial Manager/Accountant and was responsible for reconciling various accounts, managing credit cards for the agency, posting cash receipts and various other duties. Last year, I was promoted to the Controller position which oversees the Accounting Department.
I stayed at Pressley Ridge because it became clear to me over time that is different than the other companies that I had worked for. The mission, values and community gave me more meaning behind the work that I was doing. Being part of this organization and working with the staff who were also committed to the work that we do has been impactful in my decision to remain at Pressley Ridge.
Even though I am not directly involved in the delivery of services to Kids and Families, I have seen changes within the Fiscal Department to become more efficient and streamline. There are many moments that are my favorite but when the Accounting Department was at the Marshall Avenue campus, I enjoyed seeing the kids have fun trick or treating, sled riding and other activities that put a smile on their faces. I was also very honored to be recognized as an Employee of the Year.
